We offer a high-quality structural PROFESSIONAL CRITIQUE AND BETA-READING, which is strongly recommended, and routinely undertaken by professional authors of any proficiency; beta-reading should always be carried out before finalizing your proof, however good you are, and ours combines fully comprehensive manuscript critique with the reader-centred experience at the forefront.  

 

For $159 we will read your book in full and advise you of any discrepancies and recommendations relating to the story, the grammar, character development, credibility, continuity and anything else we feel is of note, whilst suggesting embellishment of positive aspects.  We will adhere very closely to your instructions for feedback, if there are particular aspects of your book you would like us to pay attention to.  Our in-depth reports are often 10-15 pages long!

In response to very popular demand, we also offer a follow-up appraisal service only for books which have already been previously professionally critiqued/beta-read by us.  If you have made changes following our recommendations, and would like your book read one more time to appraise them, this service is for you.

If your intention is to submit your book to agents or publishers, you need to give them exactly what they want.  Most receive scores of submissions per week, and will only read even a sample of your book if the synopsis stands out.  It is therefore essential that your synopsis is concisely written and professionally formatted according to their expectations.

 

If we have proofread/line-edited or copy-edited your book, we can write you a good, professional, concise synopsis (1-2 pages).  We can not guarantee your submission results, but we can assure you that the standard and formatting will be what they are looking for, and you will gain a valuable skill.  We will even include a suggestion for your book's cover blurb in the price.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, THOUGH, UNLIKE OTHER SYNOPSIS SERVICES YOU MIGHT FIND ON FREELANCE SITES, WE DON'T SIMPLY PASTE YOUR BOOK INTO CHATGPT TO GENERATE YOUR SYNOPSIS.

Need a little help creating your cover blurb/listing description?  If your book has received one of our reading or editorial services, why not let us write one for you?  

The 150-200 word blurb will be relevant, eye-catching and clearly summarize your book's theme, genre and premise for the reader, whether fiction or non-fiction.  All you then need to do is paste it into your cover designer program.

 

The cost for this service is $15.  You can add this to your beta-reading instruction in the booking form or, if you want to add it to an editorial instruction we have already carried out, please contact us for a payment link.

Reviews are written by myself, the Senior Editor of MJV Literary and published author, Matt McAvoy.  Like most writers, I also love to read.  And you NEED reviews.

 

Over at www.mattmcavoy.com, I have a very popular book review blog, and I would be more than happy to add your book to my TBR bookshelf.  If I read your book I will also post reviews on GOODREADS, X and FACEBOOK.  I'll also put your book's cover on INSTAGRAM and my PINTEREST Pinboard "BOOKS I'VE REVIEWED"; you can copy the review into the Editorial Reviews of your Amazon Author Central account.  Though I will do this for free, I will read all genres, including non-fiction.
